A high quality field from 19 different golf clubs played in the Trentham Men's Open on Sunday December 7. The event was shortened to 18 holes after the 36-hole event was washed out in October.

The overall winner of the scratch and the George O’Hehir trophy was Craig Boucher (+3) from Midlands Golf Club with a fine 67. Trentham's Paul McKeon, playing off 23, won the handicap and the Max O’Halloran Cup with a nett 68.
In the handicap the winner in A-grade (handicaps +3 to 3) was Taylor Cameron (1) from Barwon Valley Golf Club with an impressive 71 that included five birdies. Runner-up was Peter Meyer (0) from Curlewis Golf Club with 72.
The winner in B-grade (handicaps 4 to 12) was Gregory Robinson (5, Spring Valley Golf Club) with a steady 70, on a countback from the runner-up Kevin Wheeler (4, Curlewis Golf Club), also with 70.
The winner in C-grade was Trentham's Colin Wilson (13) with a consistently down-the-middle 70. Runner-up was Trentham’s own Larry Prowse (21) with 71.
Nearest the pins were 2: Douglas Parkin (Curlewis), 5: Chris Campbell (Trentham), 13: Al Clelland (Beaufort) and 15:Jake Longhurst (Bacchus Marsh).
The day was hugely successful, with thanks to the many volunteers and particularly Colin Wilson for organising and administration, Rhonda Holcombe for sponsorship and Simon Ovenden on the finishing desk.
