Points trophies awarded

This year the club re-instituted a points trophy for the Thursday and Saturday competitions. Each weekly competition, golfers were awarded 20 points for a competition win down to 1 point for coming in 20th position. The objective was to encourage golfers to play more often, especially in the Winter months, and to provide some reward for consistent golf performance.

Thanks to Kevin Sheedy who originally suggested the idea, and to Kevin and Bob Penrose for administering the competition. The prizes awarded were $100 for first, $60 for second and $40 for third. Funds for the prizes were generously provided by Jim McCormack, Kevin Sheedy, John Hudson and Bob Penrose.

The winners for 2018 were:

Prize Saturday Thursday
1st $100
David Thiele Bob Penrose
2nd $60
Martin Walker Colin Wilson
3rd $40
Gary Middleton Dick Ellis

Monday Muggers

The Monday Muggers is a group of club members that play social golf on most Mondays throughout the year at the club, followed by a barbeque. Players assemble at 9.00 am for a 9.30 am 'multi-tee' hit-off. Friends and visitors (including occasional golfers) are welcome.

Trentham Travellers

The Monday Muggers sometimes organise visits to other golf clubs, and they become known as the Trentham Travellers. They may organise day trips to nearby clubs, or 2-3 day trips to more distant locations e.g. the Murray River. The feature is good golf with friends and a welcoming social atmosphere. If you are interested in these visits, please contact Dick Ellis or Harold Moore.
