Charity Day raises $3300

A field of 108 players at Trentham's 2019 Charity Day raised over $3300 for projects at Trentham District Primary School. The amount was raised through entry fees, raffles, on-course competitions and a trading table.

The 4-person Ambrose scratch event was won by the team of Francis Lee, Todd Louttit, Andrew Marr and Anthony Lee (Bamawm and Rich River Golf Clubs) with 58 nett. The Handicap event was won by a Trentham team consisting of Gavin King, Bob Hogan, Marc Merigan and Kim Ooi with 46.25. Nearest the pins were won by Mike Hotchin, Max Hinneberg, Simon Ovenden and Col Godsmark (SA).

As there were some teams with players without handicaps a separate scratch event was held that saw Dave Wilkinson, Denis Wilkinson, John Trevillian and Darren Paterson finish with 63, followed by Dave Evans, Ron Jennings, Patrick Quigley and Travis Smithard with 66.

Thanks to everyone who contributed and volunteered on the day, especially Stuart Leong who raised over $300 by providing $5 long drives for teams on the 6th and 18th holes.

Monday Muggers

The Monday Muggers is a group of club members that play social golf on most Mondays throughout the year at the club, followed by a barbeque. Players assemble at 9.00 am for a 9.30 am 'multi-tee' hit-off. Friends and visitors (including occasional golfers) are welcome.

Trentham Travellers

The Monday Muggers sometimes organise visits to other golf clubs, and they become known as the Trentham Travellers. They may organise day trips to nearby clubs, or 2-3 day trips to more distant locations e.g. the Murray River. The feature is good golf with friends and a welcoming social atmosphere. If you are interested in these visits, please contact Dick Ellis or Harold Moore.
