Stunning day for women's championship conclusion

The weather was perfect for the third and final round of the women's club championships held on Wednesday May 22. In glorious late-Autumn sunshine and mild to warm conditions, the course presented well with good fairways and the usual true greens.

Women's championship winners: Judy Rothe (Life Member), Yvonne Sillett (C Grade), Sue Byrne (Club Champion), Dawn Hinneberg (B Grade) and Gwen Justice (Veterans).

The A Grade winner and club champion was Sue Byrne, with a 3-round total of 273. This was the sixth time Sue has won the championship in the last seven years. In a closely-fought contest, the runner-up was 25-time champion Gwen Justice on a total of 278. Congratulations to both for some fine golf. Gwen also convincingly won the Veteran's trophy in her first year in the age group.

In B Grade, the winner was Dawn Hinneberg on 308, from Julie Hanson. Yvonne Sillett was thrilled with her win in C Grade, her score of 333 edged out Pat Kinnell on 337.

The nett winners were Helen Young (A Grade, 229), Dawn Hinneberg (B Grade, 241) and Yvonne Sillett who had the best overall nett score to win C Grade (228).

It was great to see so many established and new members participating in a keen but fair competitive spirit. Many thanks to everyone who organised the events and made lunches. Life member Judy Rothe presented the trophies.

Monday Muggers

The Monday Muggers is a group of club members that play social golf on most Mondays throughout the year at the club, followed by a barbeque. Players assemble at 9.00 am for a 9.30 am 'multi-tee' hit-off. Friends and visitors (including occasional golfers) are welcome.

Trentham Travellers

The Monday Muggers sometimes organise visits to other golf clubs, and they become known as the Trentham Travellers. They may organise day trips to nearby clubs, or 2-3 day trips to more distant locations e.g. the Murray River. The feature is good golf with friends and a welcoming social atmosphere. If you are interested in these visits, please contact Dick Ellis or Harold Moore.
