Trentham Golf Club

Trentham Travellers News

Monday Muggers

At home many of the Trentham Travellers are affectionately known as our Monday Muggers. They play social golf on most Mondays throughout the year at the club, followed by a barbeque. Players assemble at 9.30 am for a 9.45 am 'multi-tee' hit-off. Friends and visitors (including occasional golfers) are welcome.

Trentham Travellers lu'au to Barham

Thirty-three Trentham Travellers take a tropical theme.

Thirty-three players journeyed to Barham on 26-27-28 March 2012. The Barham course was in excellent condition and good weather prevailed over the three days.

Bernie Hawkins, Peter Bullen, John Little and John Bell get into the spirit of 'Hawaiian Shirt Day'.

Day Two of the trip was ‘Hawaiian‘ shirt day, and an interesting array of shirts was displayed! Morrie Tisdale’s attire drew the most attention, with Peter Bullen’s shirt considered to be the best. Peter also led his team to victory in the Day Two Team Challenge.

Ross Sporton, with 96 Stableford points over the three days, narrowly won the Murray River Cup from Colin Crawford with 95 points. Denis Wilkinson's 37 points on Day Two saw him win the ‘Billy Roberts Trophy' for the best 18-hole score.

Travellers slip up to Shepparton

Twenty-eight players participated in the most recent ‘Trentham Travellers’ Golf Trip which was to the Shepparton Golf Club on 14-16 November 2011. The group stayed in the on-course motel at the golf club, and their staff provided wonderful hospitality and great meals. In near perfect conditions, Tom Mossop proved to be the ‘star’ taking out the Geoff Gatehouse Memorial Trophy for the best aggregate score over two days. Denis Hayes and Ross Sporton were runners-up.

Tom and Ross Sporton were joint winners of the ‘Billy Roberts’ trophy for the best 18 hole scores over the two days. On Wednesday 16 November, the group journeyed to the Kyabram Parklands Par 3 course, and joined local members in their regular Wednesday competition. The locals gave us a great welcome. Roy Capener was the best performed Trentham player, winning his grade in their competition.
